Progress Report on the
Village - February 2008
The village is moving on a pace. The
Latest photographs were taken over a period of two
days. In that short space of time the marble has been applied to
the stairs and most of the doors have been fitted. All the window
frames and shutters are in situ awaiting installation.
With 81 children in our care this long awaited village hasn't
come a moment too soon. Contractually the residential buildings
must be ready for occupation by the end of March. At the speed the
army are working I have no doubt whatsoever that they will fulfil
their contractual obligations. However, they are still laying foundations
for the clinic and administration building so I must be sure that
the site is safe for the children before I move them in. I will
keep you informed as work progresses.
I apologise for the poor quality of some of the photos but the
houses are so light and airy that we were battling with the Sunshine.
Now that all the internals are almost completed it is easy to visualise
the children enjoying their new family homes.
We can't thank all of you individually as there are so many of
you who have worked so hard to achieve it. I hope when the village
is completed you will all have the opportunity to visit it and see
the difference your tireless efforts have made to our children's
lives.
Thank you all.
